Forestry Tour Coordinator & Development Manager
The Temperate Forest Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 forestry organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forestry through education, and is recognized as a leader in bringing unbiased, scientifically credible information to the public. The Foundation is seeking a self-motivated, highly creative individual. This position combines expertise in science, technology, education, forestry and natural resources.
The Forestry Tour Coordinator & Development Manager will be responsible for the quality of the educational programs and services. The main focus of this position is to research, develop and implement the Teacher Forestry Tour programs throughout North America. The Teacher Forestry Tour program development is approximately 70% of the job duties. The position also requires developing the Foundation's products and services, such as the Foundation's quarterly publication, website, Education Kits, etc. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing the market for products and services through aligning products to meet apparent and latent needs, establishing the Foundation's 'brand', and building networks and alliances. Some grant writing may be an opportunity as well. The Forestry Tour coordinator will ensure all information is scientifically credible and filtered through the Scientific Advisory Board.
The successful candidate will have strong research skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong written and oral presentation and communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, as well as exercising good judgment and initiative. A four year degree in natural resource management or forestry with several years of experience is desirable.
