Temiscaming is a perfect example of a resource-based town dependent on the timber industry. Before lunch, teachers were able to tour the Temiscaming Train Station/Museum and Kipawa waterfall.
Teachers were treated to a luncheon featuring guest speakers; Jim Lopez, Executive Vice President of Forest Resource Management for Tembec and Phil Barette, mayor of Temiscaming. The luncheon was sponsored by the town in DesJardins Hall at the Temiscaming Centre. In addition to lunch, teachers were given a bag of goodies. Each bag hand painted by Temiscaming elementary school student in honor of our visit.
