All Teachers's Tour participants stay at the Super 8 Motel in Escanaba. Participants registered all day at the hotel until 4PM.
At 4:45PM the bus departed from the hotel for the Michigan Technical Education Center (M-Tec) for tour orientation starting at 5PM. Orientation was followed by dinner at the Hereford & Hops Restaurant and Brewery sponsored by Partek Forest, Inc.

Lake States Teachers' Tour Participants were lodged at the Super 8 Motel in
Escanaba. Registration was at the motel during Wednesday afternoon.

The Michigan Technical Education Center was the site of the tour's orientation
and closing presentation (on Saturday).

The Tour's keynote presentation was given by Bill Botti, former Chief
Silviculturist for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources speaking on
culture, history, and silviculture of Michigan forests addressing social,
economic, and ecological issues.

Also presenting was Mike Lanasa, Acting Supervisor and Forest Silviculturist
for the Hiawatha National Forest speaking on the US Forest Service and the
National Forest system.

Hereford and Hops is Michigan's Upper Peninsula’s first brewpub and the state’s
first charcoal grill-your-own restaurant.
Hereford & Hops Restaurant & Brewpub opened in December 1994, dedicated
to fostering the tradition of the “neighborhood pub,” a place where friends
and family can meet and relax, make new acquaintances and comfortably escape the
daily grind for a while. Dinner included: choice of walleye (fish), steaks,
kabobs, and chicken. There was also be a potato bar/salad bar
