Resource URL: http://www.itm-info.com/fever/mace/images/ForestryGuide.pdf
Description: In the mid-Atlantic states, forestry agencies and local school systems have partnered to create a Forestry CD and Forestry CD Activity Guide that provide insight into the science and art of creating, conserving and managing forested communities. Text, photographs, video, and diagrams are used to introduce students to the principles of forestry. The Forestry CD and Activity Guide are both divided into four sections which cover "Forest Management Practices," "Tools Used in Forestry," "From Trees to Lumber and Fuel," and "Tree Identification." Photographs and descriptions detail the various forest management, harvesting, and regeneration techniques including implementation and outcomes. The CD and activity guide are most appropriate for middle-high school levels.
