A Teachers' Guide to Arbor Month

Resource URL: www.dnr.state.mn.us/arbormonth/teachersguide.html
Description: Tree planting is what a Minnesota Arbor Celebration is all about. Just one tree planted on Arbor Day does more than shade the spot where it's planted. It gives root to the love of trees and the stewardship of renewable resources. A Teachers Guide to Arbor Month is designed to easily integrate learning about trees into your regular school curriculum. This cross-curriculum thematic guide offers learning activities to supplement lessons in: language art, math, music, art, social studies, science, health, and physical education. It is also an ideal enhancement to your environmental education programs, and can help you meet Minnesota graduation standards for environmental education.
In addition, the Resource section contains a valuable collection of reference materials on many topics about trees. Most of the pages are designed as ready-to-use and are ideally suited for independent learning projects in the upper elementary and junior high grades.
