The Redwood Region Teachers' Tour was in Fortuna, California for the 2000 summer tour. Thirty-nine teachers from across the United States gathered July 12th - 15th for an exciting and educating glimpse into modern forest management.

The Redwood Forest is home to the tallest, largest trees on Earth. The unusual climate sustains a wide diversity of plants and animals including some very hardy trees. When redwoods are harvested, the resulting new growth thrives in the nice foggy mist and the slivers of sunlight seeping through the giant canopy, allowing photosynthesis to occur.
