Simpson Lab & Nursery

Entrance to the Simpson Nursery and Tissue Culture Lab.

Many teachers were astounded by Simpson's ability to grow such healthy and viable seedlings.

Glen Lehar, supervisor of the nursery, explains how Simpson cultivates redwood trees to produce offspring which grow taller, faster, straighter and with more resistance to disease.

When a particularly hearty strain of seedling presents itself, cloning is not far behind. There are many jobs in the forestry industry that don't necessarily involve tromping around in the woods.

The next generation.

You can never have too many trees.
