Arcata Community Forest

	Time for a group picture.
	Arcata Community Forest turned out to be the perfect place to talk about balancing or integrating social, economic and ecological needs. The forest provides income for the city of Arcata, great habitat, and recreational opportunities for local residents. Mark Andre', the forest manager, guided us through the forest with the assistance of Dr. Gerry Allen of Humboldt State, Season from the California Department of Forestry and Russ Forsburg. They explained economics, silviculture, and regulations.
	There are lots of banana slugs in the forest. These are important decomposers and they eat just about anything.
