Lunch at Camp Bauer

It was a beautiful day for an outside picnic.
Meals are good times to start networking and getting to know each other.

Gary Warinner describes how Simpson uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to gather and monitor spatial data across a large landscape. This includes, but is not limited to, data on riparian zones, plant cover, wildlife and roads. Without GIS modern forest management would be impossible. Foresters, engineers and biologists also use Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to maintain accuracy about where each piece of data is collected. Forest Tilley coveted one of Gary's GIS maps because it touched on Forest's 360 acre tree farm which adjoins Simpson forestlands.
