The tour started with a stop at the Tembec Mill Complex in Temiscaming, Ontario. After touring the complex and learning how a pulp mill operates, teachers were treated to a picnic lunch.
Teachers visited the Tembec Mill Complex in Temiscaming consisting of 7 separate mills. Teachers received a tour of the Temcell pulp mill to see how wood is processed into wood pulp used in paper and paperboard.
The Tembec Paperboard Group is one of Canada's finest paperboard manufacturers. Temiscaming is a perfect example of a resource-based town dependent on the timber industry. Before lunch, teachers toured the Temiscaming Train Station/Museum and Kipawa waterfall.
In Temiscaming, teachers were treated to a luncheon. The luncheon was
sponsored by the town of Temiscaming in DesJardins Hall at the Temiscaming Centre.
